BENEFITS:
Medical Insurance for Foreign Workers and New Immigrants provides coverage for $100,000; $500,000 and $1,000,000.
Hospital accommodation (ward accommodation).
Physician and surgeon services.
Diagnostic Services: Laboratory tests and X-ray prescribed by the attending physician due to an emergency. ( MRI, CAT scans, sonograms, ultrasounds or biopsies have to be pre-approved by Global Excel)
Ambulance services - ground transportation.
Medical appliances - rental of crutches, casts, splints, canes, slings, trusses, braces, walkers and wheelchairs.
Professional services - up to $220 per year for chiropractic expenses, including radiological examinations. Up to $155 for osteopath; Up to $135 for chiropodist or podiatrist; Up to $500 per policy year for professional services of physiotherapist prescribed by physician or surgeon.
Routine health examination - one exam per policy year up to $250 .
Maternity: up to $10,000 for pregnancy and childbirth. The pregnancy must start after the effective date of the insurance and the coverage have to include the entire term of the pregnancy. Expenses of well baby care for a period of 6 months after the birth of a child is also included.
Eye Examination - up to $100 for an eye examination by an optometrist or an ophthalmologist.
Psychologist: up to $500 per policy year.
Accidental dental of up to $2,500 in case of accident.
Emergency air transportation when arranged with Global Excel.
Emergency Out of Province: up to 30 days per trip.
Return Home Benefit: up to $5,000 for transportation back to province of residence.
Return of remains - Up to $5,000 for preparation and transportation to the country of origin or for cremation and/or burial at the place of death.
EXCLUSIONS:
ELIGIBILITY: New Immigrants and Foreign Workers and their families under age of 70 who are not covered under a Canadian government health insurance plan.
INPATIATE PLAN CAN BE PURCHASED ONLY THROUGH AN EMPLOYER.
In the event of hospitalization or emergency surgery you must call Global Excel no later than 3 days from the date of admission: 1-800-715-8833 toll free from Canada and U.S. or 819-566-8839 collect call from anywhere. Do not assume that someone will contact Global Excel on your behalf. It remains your responsibility to ensure that Global Excel has been contacted within 3 days of admission. Failure to do so limits benefits to 70% of eligible expenses to a maximum of $10,000.
OTHER EXCLUSIONS:
- No reimbursement for prescription drugs, contraceptive devices, fertility drugs or procedures.
- Alcohol or drug abuse is not covered.
- Mental, emotional or psychological disorder.
- Participation in any professional sports or racing and speed contest.
CLAIMS:
You must report in writing and send all original bills, invoices and receipts within 90 days from the date a claim arises to Global Excel . All documents have to be mailed to:

ABOUT ETFS:
Founded in Lennoxville, Quebec in 1984 as a privately owned company specializing in group and international student insurance, in 1992 ETFS entered the individual travel insurance industry. Today the company offers several dozen group and individual products geared toward the travel and specialized health insurance industry. From its roots in 1984, ETFS has grown rapidly and continually over the years. There are currently more than 400 employees working at ETFS offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Montreal, Toronto, San Francisco, Orlando, and the corporate headquarters continue to be located in Sherbrooke, Quebec.
