BENEFITS:
Emergency Medical Expenses maximum benefits: Plan 1 $25,000; Plan 2 $50,000; Plan 3 $150,000
Hospital room (to a maximum of semi-private rates).
Physician services.
The rental or purchase (whichever is less) of a hospital bed, wheelchair, brace, crutch or other medical appliance.
Tests that are needed to diagnose your condition.
Prescription medication.
Professional services referred by a physician - care received from a licensed chiropractor, osteopath, physiotherapist or podiatrist, up to $250 per category of practitioner.
Ambulance transportation (ground service) Air ambulance when pre-approved and arranged by Travel Guard.
Emergency Evacuation & Repatriation - up to $5,000.
Expenses Related to Your Death from a covered condition: $3,000 for preparation of your body plus transportation to your country of origin. $2,000 for cremation or burial at the place of death.
Plan 3 only:
Bedside Companion & Subsistence - transportation costs and up to $300 for hotel and meals for some one to be with you if you have been traveled alone and have been hospitalized for more then 3 days. For an insured child, a bedside companion benefit is available immediately upon hospital admission.
Subsistence Allowance - up to $1,500 (maximum of $150 per day) for meals, hotels, phone calls and taxis if a medical emergency prevents you of returning to your original point as it has been planed.
Dental - $250 for emergency dental for the relief of dental pain.
Non-Flight Accidental Death & Dismemberment - $25,000.

EXCLUSIONS:
AGE LIMITS:
From 15 days to 84 years of age. The maximum period of coverage is 12 months, unless you are 60 years of age or older at time of purchasing a policy. Then the maximum number of days that you can be insured is 183 days.
WAITING PERIOD for illness:
If you purchase this policy prior to your arrival in Canada, coverage begins on your arrival date. If you purchase this policy after arrival in Canada, expenses will not be covered as the result of sickness occurring prior to or within the first 48 hours immediately following your Policy effective date.
DEDUCTIBLE:
The first $50 of every claim for Plans 1 and 2. There is no deductible under Plan 3.
PRE-EXISTING CONDITIONS:
-If you are under 50 years of age. This plan covers medical conditions that has been STABLE and CONTROLLED within 90 DAYS before your policy effective date. Excluded are heart conditions that required use of nitroglycerin in any form more than once per a seven day period; or lung conditions that required use of home oxygen or has required you to take oral steroids (prednisone or prednisolone).
- 50 years of age or older. AIG Travel Guard does not cover any loss or expense related to any sickness, injury or symptoms occurred or required medical consultation, prescription medication or hospitalization at any time during the 180-DAY period before the effective date of your policy, regardless of whether or not the condition was controlled.
- Age between one month and 2 years - same as between 2 and 50 years of age. In addition there is no coverage for any medical condition arising from or related to a congenital defect.

STABLE and CONTROLLED - any medical condition for which there has been no new treatment or newly prescribed medication; no change in treatment or change in prescribed medication; no new, more frequent or more severe symptom; no test results showing deterioration; no investigations initiated for symptoms whether or not your diagnosis has been determined; no hospitalization and no referral to a specialist.

Note: Each time you extend or purchase another policy from the insurance company because you are staying in Canada longer, each new or extended policy will have a new effective date and you will NOT be covered under the new or extended policy for any pre-existing medical conditions before the effective date of the new policy.

OTHER EXCLUSIONS:
- Routine pre-natal care; a child born during your trip; childbirth or complications of childbirth; pregnancy or complications thereof within the nine (9) weeks before of anytime after the expected date of delivery.
- Mental or emotional disorder.
- Follow ups or ongoing treatments.
- Expenses incurred for cardiac procedures, including catheterization, angioplasty or surgery, unless approved in advance by Travel Guard.
- Transplants.
- Professional sports and participation in a motor sport or speed contests. Rock or mountain climbing. Opreating any aircraft as pilot or crew; or performing duties in armed forces service.
- Routine medical tests or general physical examination.
- Expenses incurred for acupuncture or natoropathic or holistic treatment.
- Recurrence or complication of a medical condition or related condition, following emergency treatment of that condition during your trip if the medical advisors, or we, determine that you were medically able to return to your departure point and you chose not to return.

CLAIMS:
Travel Guard should be notified as soon as possible in order to provide you with a claim form specific to your loss. You have 90 days from your return date to file your claim.

To submit a claim, you must include the following:
- Fully completed Claim Form
- Proof of insurance payment.
- Originals of all bills, invoices and receipts.
Written incident reports, police reports, doctor/hospital records and/or death certificate, or autopsy or corner's report (where lawful).

For Emergency Accident and Sickness Benefits: You must notify Travel Guard at 416-646-3723 (collect) or 1-866-878-0192 prior to any emergency medical treatment and prior to any surgery, invasive procedure or hospitalization. Failure to do so will result in your being responsible for 30% of any eligible expenses incurred unless your medical condition prevents you from calling. You must call as soon as medically possible or have someone call on your behalf.
Travel Guard will make every effort to pay providers directly.

FAQ:
REFUNDS:
Refunds are available up to your start date or if you have a minimum of three (3) unused days of coverage. For refunds call Travel Guard Customer Service at 1-866-878-0191. No refund of premium will be make in the event that a claim has been paid, incurred or reported under this Policy.

EXTENSIONS:
For extension call Travel Guard at 1-866-878-0191 before your policy expiry date. The extension is subject to pre approval.

SIDE TRIPS:
This Plan covers Visitors to Canada for emergency medical expenses incurred in Canada or during a side trip outside of Canada (not to your country of origin), provided the side trip begins and ends in Canada. The length of time you spend in Canada must by greater than the length of time you spend on your side trip outside of Canada.
